Rome takes over The Tailor Bar

For one night only, Rome arrives in Amsterdam. On 28 June, The Tailor Bar hosts a full Italian takeover with Drink Kong and Jerry Thomas Speakeasy — two bars that have shaped modern cocktail culture in Italy and far beyond.

This special night brings a rare double header guest shift, with teams from Drink Kong and Jerry Thomas Speakeasy serving side by side — both internationally recognised by The World’s 50 Best Bars. Expect an all-Italian takeover with cocktails exclusively from both venues, a DJ soundtrack, and an atmosphere designed to keep the bar buzzing all night.

Founded in Rome by Patrick Pistolesi, Drink Kong is a visionary cocktail bar built on instinct, creativity, and emotional hospitality. Inspired by 1980s retro-futurism, cyberpunk aesthetics, and the cinematic world of Blade Runner, Drink Kong combines bold visuals with a deeply human approach to service.

Leading the takeover from Drink Kong are Patrick Pistolesi and Federico Daniele. With more than 27 years behind the bar, Patrick Pistolesi is one of the most influential figures in the global bar industry — ranked 28th in Drinks International’s 100 Most Influential Figures. His career spans pioneering projects, international consultancy, and the creation of Drink Kong and Nite Kong, both celebrated for their distinctive vision.

Opened in 2010, Jerry Thomas Speakeasy revolutionised Italian cocktail culture with its deep research into forgotten recipes, rare spirits, and technique-driven mixology. As Italy’s first “secret bar” to enter The World’s 50 Best Bars — seven times to date — it remains a timeless reference inspired by the American Prohibition era.

Joining the takeover are Siria Nicoletti, Head Bartender at Jerry Thomas Speakeasy, and Luca Broccoli. Both bring international experience, a passion for classic technique, and a hospitality-first mindset shaped by years behind some of Rome’s most respected bars.
